Thank you for supporting Thirteen’s upcycling scheme [Archived]

Since we shared the news, many colleagues and members of the public have donated unwanted furniture and household items, and this has been gratefully received by some of our most vulnerable customers.

As the team continue to help customers, they are welcoming further donations, including a number of items, which are in high demand, including:

• Bed frames, good quality mattresses and bed linen
• Sofas
• Curtains
• Drawers and bedside tables
• Coffee tables and small dining tables with chairs
• Wardrobes
• General kitchen equipment – including crockery, pots, pans, cutlery tea-towels.

The project, launched at the company’s recycling centre in Billingham, has not only supported many families but it’s also helping reduce waste – with the UK discarding around 1.6million tonnes of furniture and bulky waste, most of which goes to landfill every year.
