We've appointed Esh Construction to carry out the work as part of our Capital Delivery Framework, focussing on homes in the Salters Lane estate in Stockton and the Humphreys Estate in Thornaby.

Residents will benefit from a range of improvements, including brand-new modern kitchens, energy efficient boilers, upgraded windows and doors.

Additionally, the homes will benefit from enhanced loft insultation and LED lighting, making them more comfortable, but also energy efficient – helping to reduce energy usage.

With the work already underway, completion is expected by summer 2025.

Thirteen’s investment area manager Rubie Dixon-Lee said: “We’re committed to investing in our customer’s homes and we’re pleased to be making these improvements, which will make a real difference to our customers.

“Our goal is to create modern, welcoming homes that our customers can be proud of, and we’re excited to be working with Esh Construction once again.”

Esh Construction’s Framework Manager, Andrew Harrow, said: “We are delighted to be partnering up with Thirteen as part of its Capital Delivery Framework on another project - a £1 million investment to improve and maintain homes in the Stockton-on-Tees area.

“Since securing our place on the framework in 2023, we have delivered a number of refurbishment and upgrade schemes worth more than £18.7 million in total. Each scheme is led with a customer first approach, and we are committed to working with Thirteen to collectively improve homes for residents.”

The work is part of Thirteen’s £55million investment plans, which has seen thousands of homes in the North East and Yorkshire benefit from home improvements over the past year.
