Colleagues play Cupid at Love Your Communities launch

There was much matchmaking at the launch of our Love Your Communities campaign.

Love Your Communities Launch Pledge Andrew Prest Of MyAbsolute

14 Feb 2025

Colleagues got to play Cupid as they sought to make a perfect match between the 50 attendees and some of our area’s most eligible projects.

The idea was to get them to pledge support for our social value efforts and give back to the community.

And pledge they did!

Rachel Webster from RE:GEN North East pledged to volunteer to help pupils at King’s Academy secondary school with their reading.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” she said. “I have two children of my own and think reading is the basis of everything when it comes to learning.

“If I can go into the school and give the pupils help they might not be getting at home, and be a friendly face that they can connect with, I think that can make a difference.”

Andrew Prest (pictured), managing director of MyAbsolute.co.uk, pledged to refurbish pergolas in the community garden at Markby Green.

“We’ve done work there before and we loved it so we’re very happy to be returning to do some volunteering,” he said.

As well as the pledges there were workshops and networking opportunities.

Thank you to all who attended.
