TIDE (Talent, Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation) is the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion’s tool for self-assessment, evaluation, and benchmarking. It is designed to help organisations assess and enhance their culture, focusing on progress and strategies in promoting diversity and inclusion.

It looks at a range of measures, including:

  • inclusive leadership
  • strategy and planning
  • diversity data
  • training and development
  • inclusive recruitment and attraction
  • employee voice and engagement

Each year, TIDE entries are benchmarked and the organisations with the highest scores receive an award.

This award reflects Thirteen’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and diverse organisation for both colleagues and customers.

Liz Thompson, head of HR business partners at Thirteen, said: “As a caring landlord and equal opportunities employer, Thirteen’s continued progress towards becoming a more inclusive organisation not only helps us to meet the diverse needs of our colleagues and communities – it also strengthens our culture and promotes a sense of belonging and trust.

“Celebrating people’s differences and supporting individual potential is at the heart of our values and service delivery, so we’re really proud that our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion has been recognised with a TIDE award.

“Thank you to our colleagues for their support with this fantastic achievement!”

Over the last year, Thirteen has set a number of priorities to help measure progress around equality, diversity and inclusion more effectively. These include:

  • improving the diversity of our workforce to enable us to become more representative of the communities we serve
  • increasing the number of females in construction roles, including trade operatives
  • improving the quality of our workforce diversity data
  • developing, promoting and supporting colleague led diversity groups
  • developing the organisation’s awareness and response on neurodiversity
  • understanding the difference our training offer makes in terms of equality, diversity and inclusion

We’ll continue to share the next steps in our work around equality, diversity and inclusion.
