Regeneration and communities

We’re helping local people create thriving neighbourhoods, making our communities a great place to live.

How we empower our communities

Our customers and communities inspire us every day with their strength and community spirit. We want to add to this spirit by helping communities to thrive and look ahead to the future.

We empower our communities by working with them to address their needs and understand local issues. We work in partnership with organisations, attract community investment and provide targeted interventions.

Our community resilience strategy is our five-year commitment to engage, support and collaborate with our communities.

Locality plans

We want to help our local people create great places to live, but each community is unique and has its own challenges. So, we’ve created locality plans for six areas across Teesside where we can tailor our approach and provide community resources.

The plans set out our vision on how we will:

  • Tackle crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Improve the environment
  • Build social connections
  • Improve life chances

How have the locality plans helped?

Our locality plans are a part of our five-year strategy. Each year we look at what has been achieved, how the locality plans have helped and what the priorities are for the next year.

The difference we’re making

Communities are at the heart of the work we do and it’s important to us that we’re here to support those who need us the most.

Our teams work in partnership to develop stronger relationships with residents and partners and tackle our community priorities. We do this by supporting projects that impact the environment, reduce ASB, build relationships and improve life chances.
