Young parents, Coney Avenue, Bishop Auckland
We provide accommodation for young couples and single parents, as well as expectant mothers or couples aged 16-25 years.
Based at Coney Avenue near Bishop Auckland, we have nine two-bedroom part furnished flats which have access to a separate communal lounge, kitchen and laundry.
All customers have their own personalised support programme agreed with their key worker, and we offer support on a wide range of issues.
The independent living programme aims to equip our residents with the knowledge and understanding of how to successfully manage a tenancy. The programme will be completed with every resident throughout their time in supported housing with the aim for them to have a successful transition into living independently. The programme covers:
- personal reflection
- money management
- safeguarding
- health and safety at home
- anti-social behaviour
- employability
- and housing.
Staff are available from 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday, with an out of hours service operating outside of these times.
Support is available for up to two years.
We can also refer you to other organisations who can provide further support. Find out more about Coney Avenue:
Moving on from the project
We work closely with social landlords, local council housing teams and private landlords to offer choice when residents are ready to move on. We offer further support to help with the transition into independent living as well as referrals to other community-based services.
